The main purpose of the role is to supervise the activities, outputs and functions of workshop employees.
Reporting: This role will report to the Service Manager
Job Objectives
Manage and control staff under his control
- Daily planning of the work load for your team.

Leading the shop floor in customer satisfaction, producing quality work.

Organizing the shop floor to ensure maximum output.

Controlling the floor to ensure Volvo specifications are maintained.
Allocate work to staff to achieve planned results

Allocate Technicians as per available work bay’s.
-
Allocate available Technician to the production plan.
-
Ensure availability of parts for Technicians.
-
Ensure availability of tools for Technicians.
Control Repair “Work In Progress” on vehicles until completed

Liaise with service advisor to ensure correct documentation is received.

Follow up progress with the mechanics so as to provide feedback to Service Advisor for liaison with customers.

Ensure all documentation is properly completed for further processing.

Ensure details of hourly work are reflected on the Job card.
Management of technical literature

Ensure technicians has the latest technical information available at their disposal

Assist the Manager in assessing the Technicians

Ensure that the Technicians comply to the Volvo Standard times and specifications

Ensure that the Technician comply to the safety program
-
Ensure that the Technician comply to the Quality program
-
Update the competence portal for staff under your control
Control Workshop equipment, vehicles and special tools in conjunction with Manager.

Observe and follow directives given in policies, instructions and S.H.E requirements

Ensure that all the required tools are available to the Technicians
Road Testing and Quality control of repairs to Vehicles.

Education & Job Experience
- Matric / N3
- Must be a Qualified Diesel Mechanic
- Must have a minimum of 2 years strong administration experience in a workshop environment.
- Must have 5 Years in maintenance / repairs of commercial vehicles
- Must have 3 years supervisory experience
