Reporting directly to EMEA Collections Head

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Accountability on all credit control and receivables reconciliation processes across assigned commercial & consumer and Coinsurance practices where appropriate. Work with the O&S, Local Brokers and the profit centers to overall improve processes to achieve better results through proper cash allocation, reconciliation and queries management for all accounts. Oversee the day to day activities within the Team to monitor and achieve monthly performance measurements of all accounts. Manage and work closely with Account Handlers, O&S and the profit centers to ensure all targets meet and succeed requirements acting a proper business partner.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage “end to end” the South Africa receivables portfolio
  • Full accountability on the “ground” as subject matter expert on receivables portfolio of TIER1 Brokers (key brokers/agent in the market) – queries management, reconciliation, relationship management, cash allocation queries, commission management
  • Monitor problematic accounts through to resolution assisting Client Contacts, Profit Centers and Brokers when required – accountability on live ledger proper maintenance and sign off on figures posted and reported
  • Perform quality control reviews on implementation of category code rules
  • Monitor and review statistics to ensure Cash movement and receipt of payments comply with KPI’s.
  • Manager the South African collection team to ensure that all un-reconciled cash items are under query
  • Proper relationship management with the outsourced service center managed by Cognizant Manila – SLA performance review – recurring SOP reviews that are representing the real market dynamics
  • Review and approve monthly, quarterly, annually AR metrics report
  • Arrange regular meetings with CPS ops to review status and agree appropriate action on main topics: – late bookings, wrong bookings, missing allocation details from front end
  • Approving & authorizing all write offs/rates of exchanges within approved limits/ Ensure SLA application
  • Implementation of a robust dunning and cancellation mechanism – process owner with full accountability

Dunning Review account on day to day basis and clear cash and production accounting entries where applicable

  • Prepare for and attend weekly Team and Management meetings, hold war rooms
  • Accountability and ownership of bad debt provision for local AIG Entity

QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience within Insurance industry.
  • Ability to work with and achieve set targets within specific timeframes.
  • At least 2 years previous experience of Supervising and managing a Team.
