Project Overview

PIH Lesotho is launching a TB Elimination Project in Mohale’s Hoek district, covering all health facilities and communities, in partnership with the Ministry of Health. The project will run until December 2029.

The TB Elimination Project Manager will lead strategic planning, coordination, and implementation of the project, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and quality while building an effective and collaborative team.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage overall project operations, including coordination, management, and day-to-day supervision.
  • Supervise project staff and foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
  • Facilitate collaboration between departments to achieve shared goals.

Execution & Resource Management

  • Oversee all procurement and commodity requirements for the project.
  • Collaborate with the Transport Officer to monitor and maintain mobile clinics and vehicles.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for travel across all project sites.
  • Identify and mobilize human, technical, and material resources as needed.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Oversee management of mobile truck operations with the Transport Unit.
  • Document and share project meeting notes; follow up to ensure timely action.
  • Lead engagement with national and district stakeholders.

Risk, Compliance & Quality Management

  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans for uninterrupted TB services.
  • Ensure compliance with PIH policies and operational standards.
  • Oversee quality management, ensuring adherence to relevant tools and standards.
  • Support project audits in collaboration with internal audit and compliance teams.
  • Work with finance and grants teams to ensure timely, within-budget project delivery.
  • Develop and manage the project budget; track expenditures against approved activities.
  • Prepare narrative and financial reports per reporting timelines.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Attend review meetings and provide updates on progress, performance, and finances.
  • Support frontline health workers and provide ongoing technical assistance.
  • Ensure deliverables and timelines are met in coordination with PIH Lesotho and PIH Boston teams.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with award terms and conditions.
  • Monitor implementation against the work plan and document successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for PIH leadership and coordination sites.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) or other health-related field.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience with cumulative budgets of $5 million or more.
  • Proven experience implementing health projects at national and district levels with INGOs in Lesotho (preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, managing multiple priorities.
