Job Description

The purpose of the Tax and Compliance Manager is to ensure that the Company is tax compliant and aligns to its Financial Strategy.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Review all the information relating to both output VAT and Input VAT for the previous month and submit to LRA
  • Monitoring production volumes and submitting to LRA for final review and obtaining pay advice
  • Review for submission the calculations of current tax and deferred tax for the year under review
  • Monitor all benefits that attract FBT and calculate the fringe benefit tax
  • Review of monthly PAYE return and review of WHT calculation for accurate filling with LRA
  • Accounting for management fees, royalties and dividends and ensure alignment to relevant contracts
  • Manage the decanting process and ensure obsolete inventory is accounted for appropriately
  • Accounting for all taxes periodically
  • Journal processing relating to tax
  • Manage the Company relationship with the Lesotho Revenue Authority
  • Assist with compliance to Companies act and governance
  • Review and approve payments
  • Coordinate annual financial audits and attend to audit queries
  • Coordinating the tax annual budgetary process and ensuring alignment to overall financial strategy
  • Manage Cash flow and cash tax forecasting
  • Monitoring and evaluating company performance against budget and in line with the company zero based budgeting principles
  • Be the ZBB Lead for Finance and the business as necessary
  • Lead the Latest Estimate (LE) process and reporting for tax, management fees, royalties and dividends
  • Report to Zone on YTD profitability and tax impact
  • Report to zone on monthly and YTD EBITA performance and how tax will be affected
  • Prepare Annual Financial Statements

Qualifications

  • BCom Degree in Accounting OR General Accountant/ Registered Accountant Certificate with at least 5 years of work experience
  • 3 years in senior or middle management
  • 2-3 years of experience within FMCG environment is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal & communications skills
