We have an outstanding opportunity for a Systems Manager to work in the Finance and Information Management Section of our Corporate Business Directorate.

The post holder will be responsible for all the technical and accounting aspects of the Secretariat’s financial accounting system, which is currently CODA. The post holder will oversee and manage the improvements and development required of the various financial accounting system modules and the relevant report generators to aid the Commonwealth Secretariat in its analytical work and reporting. The role is business facing and usually the first port of call for all members of staff with regard to financial accounting system related queries.

The post holder should have an accounting background, a sound understanding of the relevant CODA databases and experience, knowledge and understanding of contemporary financial accounting systems and technologies such as eProcurement, eInvoicing, cloud and automation (RPA/AI). They should also have an advanced knowledge of MS Access and Excel, including pivot tables, and linking to external data sources. Any exposure to structured project methodologies such as PRINCE II would be an advantage.

To be considered, you will need to have a degree in accounting such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA or a university degree in IT with a partial accountancy qualification; at least 7 years financial accounting systems experience (preferably CODA) in a SQL environment; specific experience of CODA add-ons, e-framework, CODA-XL, CODA procurement, CODA workflow and CODA assets; at least 2 years accounting experience; advanced MS Access and Excel (VBA/macros) and links to external databases; experience in providing training for finance and non-finance users as well as creating training and reference materials; experience of working in multi-national teams and/or a virtual team environment.
