Metropolitan Lesotho is a wholly owned subsidiary of Momentum Metropolitan Group, a company registered on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. We are currently looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual in the position of Systems Engineer – IT based in Maseru, Lesotho. The incumbent will report directly to the IT Manager.
Role Purpose
To provide IT support to users by Installing and configuring hardware, operating systems and applications, monitoring and maintaining systems and networks. To diagnose and solve problems using knowledge of computer languages and operations to plan, develop, implement and support new and existing network computing services.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline and 2 years experience
- UiPath RPA Advanced Certification,
- Any of high level-programming language certification (Java, C++,C#), Scripting (PHP, Javascript, , python etc) – advantage
- Cisco Certified Network Associate Certification (CCNA)
Duties & Responsibilities
- To Install and configure hardware, operating systems, and applications on desktop and laptop computers across the organisation as and when needed.
- To analyse business requirements, design, develop, implement, monitor, support, troubleshoot and maintain a portfolio of new and existing software applications and services from high-level business requirements and designs through the SDLC
- To provide technical support for users via telephone, chat, and web tickets to ensure the resolution of queries and issues.
- To diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions of computer or network devices relating to user error, faulty hardware, or software/server/network issues.
- To monitor and maintain computer systems and networks as and when needed.
- To participate in the full development life cycle of business software, including analysis, design, development, unit/load testing, deployment and maintenance of a software system and implementation of business software for the enterprise, ensuring technical integrity and alignment with coding standards and principles.
- To work with end users to collect and analyse business requirements and then design, develop, and implement solutions. Help research and evaluate potential technical solutions to business problems.
- To modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
- To develop business requirements specifications, technical specifications / program specifications and systems documentation.
Competencies
- Proficient in various SQL and NoSQL-based Database Management Systems ( Mysql, MSSql, Oracle)
- Proficient in HTML/ CSS, and Javascript (TypeScript). AngularJS, React, Node.JS or other Javascript frameworks.
- Ability to build Web API’s using various programming languages Node.JS/.Net (C#, python)
