PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To supervise the surveillance team ensuring optimal usage for relevant CCTV to coordinate access control into the plant and red areas.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & RELATED EXPERIENCE
• Diploma in Security Management, Policing, Investigation, Risk Management or equivalent
• At least 2 Years’ Experience in Security Access Control
• At least 4 Years’ Experience working as security officer in a diamond mine

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Supervise the surveillance and access control activities in the Recovery Plant, PCC and Process Plant
• Continuously coach and mentor subordinates about surveillance, access control and diamond protection to ensure an effective and high-performing security service
• Ensure that all diamond handling activities, maintenance, housekeeping and process anomalies are adequately covered by surveillance
• Review all surveillance reports and ensure that the electronic reporting platform is operating optimally at all times
• Review daily camera checklists and ensure that all cameras flagged as dirty, out-of-focus or inoperational are attended timeously to by relevant personnel
• Engage relevant line managers and supervisors to address detected non-compliances and process inefficiencies such as chokes and spillages
• Undertake comprehensive investigations on ay identified or suspected non-compliances and report findings to the line supervisor
• Undertake on-the-job training of subordinates to ensure that they perform their duty in accordance with set performance standards
• Perform CCTV camera surveillance operations in all high-risk areas where personnel come into direct contact with concentrate.
• Perform access control duties to ensure that all access and egress into high-risk areas is performed in accordance with set perimeter and standard operating procedures
• Interact with supervisory personnel from appropriate SMD departments to ensure consistency in workflow and processes between departments
• Report any non-compliances, security incidents and suspicious occurrences to the line supervisor in accordance with standard operating procedures and operational requirements
• Ensure compliance and adherence to policies, procedures and SHE and Security standards and best practices.
• Manage and control the utilisation of resources to ensure adherence to approved budgeted expenditure.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Familiar with legal guidelines in terms of security
• Adequate knowledge on the criminal procedures act and precious stones order
• Familiar with law of Security Officers
• Sound knowledge of CCTV hardware and software
• Knowledge of CiiMs online reporting system
• Knowledge of Babylon Access Control
• Knowledge and administration of X-Scan
• Data analysis and reporting
• Information gathering and concise report writing
• Sound decision making, interpersonal and questioning skills
• Ability to plan and prioritize completing deadlines
• Attention to detail
• Methodical and rules driven
• Good communication skills in English
• Ability to produce concise reports that can be used as evidence
