PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To control access into the operational areas of the plant and to closely monitor all activities being conducted within the Recovery/Sort house and Process Plant, with the view to accurately capture or record on CCTV camera any untoward activity, criminal incidents or breach of standard operating procedures and to ensure prompt reporting of the same to the relevant Line Manager.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & RELATED EXPERIENCE
• COSC
• 2 Years’ Experience in Security Access Control will be an added advantage
• Computer Literacy

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Perform CCTV surveillance operations in all high-risk areas where personnel come into direct contact with concentrate.
• Report and record all activities and non-compliances in the electronic reporting platform.
• Conduct planned, focused surveillance activities of personnel with the view to detecting anomalies as well as suspicious practices by individuals
• Conduct reviews and analysis of CCTV footage on all activities in accordance with set parameters and standard operating procedures
• Undertake review of all cameras to ensure that all areas are covered appropriately and that all cameras are functioning as required
• Report any security risks to the line supervisor and propose any remedial actions to address the perceived risks
• Ensure effective daily administration of the security access control system and report anomalies and action taken to prevent unauthorized entry into high-risk areas.
• Ensure compliance and adherence to policies, procedures and SHE and Security standards and best practices.
• Operate the X-Scann system and ensure that all images are viewed and cleared in accordance with set parameters and operational requirements
• Operate the baggage scanner and ensure that all freight is cleared of any contraband when exiting the PCC
• Control access into and out of the high-risk security areas through the access management system in accordance with the set parameters
• Conduct personal searches on all persons and luggage that has been flagged for a physical search in accordance with the law and standard operating procedures

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Familiar with legal guidelines in terms of security
• Adequate knowledge on the criminal procedures act and precious stones order
• Familiar with law of Security Officers
• Working Knowledge of CCTV hardware and software
• Information gathering and concise report writing
• Sound decision making skills
• Sound interpersonal and questioning skills
• Ability to plan and prioritize completing deadlines
• Attention to detail
• Methodical and rules driven
• Good communication skills in English
• Ability to produce concise reports that can be used as evidence
