We are looking for a remarkable Supply Chain Order Specialist to join DSM Nutritional Products South Africa (Pty) Ltd.

The Challenge

As the Supply Chain Order specialist, you will report to and work closely with the Local Supply Chain Controller. Based in Isando, you will be the first point of contact for Customer Service Department, support the Premix operations in matters where inputs and outputs are needed and supporting internal plant communication to improve production and raw materials planning adding value to customer centricity

The Position

The key responsibilities in this position will be:

  • Securing fluent production orders communication flow

    • Review open orders to identify material shortages ahead of time
    • Monitors and acts on all manufacturing orders that are past due, or idle to prevent the order from being late
    • Must maintain a high level of flexibility in order to be able to react immediately to various inventory or production issues. With this flexibility must be able to work side by side with production management, purchasing and scheduling to rectify issues with lead time and inventory constraints
  • Daily contact with customer service department

    • Provides proactive feedback to internal customers on orders being expedited, orders customers have paid for (block release), orders that are past due, behind schedule, and others as requested along with an estimated time of completion
    • Effectively communicate (internally and externally) and provide timely responses to emails and requests
    • Collaborate with all appropriate departments and personnel to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Shipping documentation management

    • Facilitate required documents needed for logistics pickup and shipments as needed
    • Generate and maintain accurate required documentation
    • Ensure all required documentation is obtained and forwarded to customer
  • Creating and maintaining shipping schedule with internal and external stakeholders

    • Arrange transportation for goods as required/scheduled
    • Expedite the Load Plan and ensure that Customers Service and Sales are communicated with when delays occur
    • Monitor the execution of the Load Plan to ensure effective & customer service orientated
  • Inventory management of FG (including block and restricted stock management)

    • Weekly review of Finished goods list that has not been shipped. Escalating when necessary
    • Prevent any FG from staying on hand for longer than 2 months
    • Managing blocked and restricted finished goods locations

The Ideal

The required qualifications, experience and competencies will be:

  • Logistics qualification or similar (PPIM advantageous)
  • 5 year of experience in similar positions
  • SAP experience will be advantageous
  • Good knowledge of supply chain and operations
  • Good knowledge of export (African countries) shipping
  • MRP experience and familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures
  • Must be a team player
  • Fluent in English.
  • High learning agility, open-minded personality
  • Very good communication skills, excellent work organization, ability to work under stress and time pressure
