The Lesotho Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO) invites applications from suitably qualified local candidates for the following positions:
Job Title: Supply Chain Manager
Reports To: General Manager, Finance
Purpose of the Role:
To ensure that all goods, works, and services acquired by WASCO are delivered at the right quality, quantity, place, time, and price in accordance with the WASCO Supply Chain Management Policy and the Public Procurement Regulations 2007 (and subsequent amendments). The role involves planning, controlling, and supervising supply chain activities, as well as ensuring that inventory accounting processes adhere to relevant standards.
Key Tasks:
• Oversee inventory management, warehouse operations, and periodic physical counts.
• Maintain and update internal controls across inventory, procurement, and accounting processes.
• Educate staff on procurement and stores procedures.
• Monitor turnaround times for requisitions.
• Secure credit facilities with suppliers and maintain strong business relationships.
• Ensure that goods and services are provided by approved suppliers.
• Advise management on the disposition of obsolete inventories.
• Prepare annual procurement plans, business plans, and budgets, along with monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Conduct staff appraisals and facilitate professional development.
• Perform reconciliations to ensure consistency, existence, and proper valuation of inventory items. Core Competencies:

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
a) Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Administration, or a related field (General Accountancy level or equivalent).
b) Certification from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS Level 6) or equivalent in Supply Chain Management/Procurement.
c) A minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
d) Demonstrated experience managing supply chain functions in a complex organisational environment.
