Summary

The Procurement and Supply Management project is the primary vehicle through which USAID provides technical assistance to improve partner countries’ management of the health commodities supply chain and collaborate with key international stakeholders to support global health initiatives. The Supply Chain Analyst will contribute to improved availability of key health commodities at the central and facility level through routine stock status monitoring and providing recommendations for required corrective action, participating in quantification and routine pipeline monitoring.

The position is based in Maseru and will report to the Commodity Security Team Lead and embedded within the Supply Chain Management Directorate (SCMD). Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate monthly review of stock status with NDSO and assist SCMD with preparing the data and stock status report for dissemination to a broader audience.
  • In collaboration with the Data Management and Analytics officer Create graphs to track consumption and other logistics trends and prepare routine reports to inform partners on progress and trends.
  • Ensure that all relevant data is available for quantification and supply plan updating exercises.
  • Assist the Team Leader-Commodity Security with pipeline monitoring and trainings to NDSO and SCMD.
  • As a member of the national quantification team, participate in the national quantification exercise through provision of required data and updating of quantification data bases e.g. Quantification analytics tool (QAT) and preparation of the quantification report
  • Track and provide regular updates on implementation of supply plans developed during quantification, including liaising with NDSO and donors as appropriate regarding receipt of health commodities
  • Participate in quantification and supply plan reviews including quarterly update to relevant data bases e.g. QAT
  • Participate in field visits to track and monitor commodity availability at the central and facility level to identify issues impacting commodity availability that need to be considered during national quantification exercise
  • Regularly collate and report required information regarding commodity availability e.g. through Monthly PPMR
  • Other duties as requested by the Team Leader Commodity Security.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; social sciences, Public Health, Statistics/ Demography, Information Systems
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience developing, assessing, and implementing Information Systems for supply chain operations.
  • Skilled in leading and managing high-performing teams.
  • Proven experience in working with the Government of Lesotho public health sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cooperating partners in implementing complex programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the regions of Lesotho if requested.
  • Fluency in English required.
