INVITATION TO TENDER – Ref ENV/4/5/1/2025-2026
Background
The Government of Lesotho has embarked on an ambitious national programme for integrated watershed management (IWM), the purpose of which is to address the interlinked issues of land degradation, livelihoods, food and water security in critical catchments across the country. Integrated Watershed Management for improved agro-pastoral livelihoods in the Sebapala sub-catchment is a full NIM (National Implementation Modality) project implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Under this arrangement, the Ministry is responsible for, among others, procurement of goods and services and financial matters. This programme/project promotes catchment-wide planning and community-driven action at the sub-catchment level to ensure integrated management of land and water resources. The objective of the project is to mainstream sustainable rangeland management and restoration of watersheds to combat land degradation, enhance the flow of agro-ecosystem goods and services, and improve the livelihoods of agro-pastoral communities.
In this context, tenders are invited from interested and suitably qualified companies and suppliers for the supply and installation of shade nets at Sebapala Project under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
Tender documents will be obtained from the Procurement Office at Post Office Building, 6th Floor, Procurement Office during office hours from 14th April 2025. Submission of tenders should be on or before 09:00 am on the 28th May 2025 at the 7th Floor, Ministry of Environment Board Room entrance. Sealed proposals should be clearly marked as per lot.
Compulsory site inspection will commence on the 22nd April 2025 for different LOTS as stipulated on the schedule below. The Pre-Bid meeting will be on the 25th April 2025 at Hill View Guest House in Quthing. The opening of the tender shall be at 09:30 am on the 28th May 2025 at the Ministry’s boardroom in the presence of the bidders or their representatives.
The Ministry of Environment and Forestry does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender nor assign reasons for acceptance or rejection of any tender.
