1. Background
The Government of Japan and the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho signed the Exchange of Notes on 30 October 2018 concerning the Japanese grant assistance for The Project for the Improvement of Secondary Schools in the Kingdom of Lesotho.
Under this agreement, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) extended a grant of JPY 1,864,000,000 to support the implementation of the project. Part of the grant proceeds will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for the Procurement of Equipment for the following schools:
- Abia High School – Maseru
- Mt. Royal High School – Leribe
- Motsekuoa High School – Mafeteng
- St. Catherine’s High School – Maseru
Detailed equipment specifications are provided in the bidding documents.
2. Scope of Bid
The Principal Secretary, Ministry of Education and Training, invites sealed bids from eligible suppliers for the Supply and Delivery of Equipment for the above-mentioned schools.
3. Eligibility
Bidding is conducted under the Public Procurement Act 2023 and is open to all bidders as defined in the bidding documents.

7. Qualification Requirements
- Minimum average turnover for the last 3 years: LSL 2,000,000
- At least 3 similar contracts in the last 3 years, totaling LSL 2,000,000
- Evidence of capital or credit lines of at least 50% of bid amount
