Sentebale is a foundation working in Lesotho to support some of the most vulnerable children and young people to lead healthy and productive lives. Sentebale will be implementing the Regeneration of Landscapes and Livelihood project. We hereby invite suitably qualified and competent Basotho to apply for the vacant positions of Sub Catchment Facilitators in the implementing 6 districts Botha-Bothe, Berea, Qacha’s Nek, Thaba-Tseka and Quthing. JOB PURPOSE:

The Sub-Catchment Facilitator will be responsible for coordinating Sub-Catchment-level activities, fostering relationships with local authorities and stakeholders, ensuring effective Sub-Catchment-level reporting, and contributing to monitoring and evaluation efforts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direct supervision of the Programs Director, the Sub-Catchment Facilitator shall be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Serve as the main liaison for the project at the Sub-Catchment level. ensuring smooth communication and collaboration between all involved parties;

• Organize and facilitate Sub-Catchment-level meetings, workshops, and other relevant events in alignment with project objectives;

• Liaise with local authorities, community leaders. chiefs, special interest groups, and establish Regeneration Coalitions to ensure active participation and support for project activities;

• Coordinate to ensure alignment and coherence in implementation efforts across the Sub-Catchment;

• Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders at the Sub-Catchment level, fostering positive relationships and promoting collaboration:

• Engage with relevant government agencies, NGOs, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the objectives of the ROLL project;

• Advocate for the project’s goals and objectives within the Sub-Catchment and ensure alignment with local development priorities;

• Provide technical backstopping and guidance to ensure effective implementation of project activities:

• Offer support and mentorship to interest groups assisting them in overcoming challenges and achieving project targets:

• Compile and submit comprehensive Sub- Catchment-level reports on project activities, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned;

• Document best practices, success stories, and lessons learned at the Sub-Catchment level to inform future project implementation and decision- making:

• Ensure accurate and timely data collection using tools provided by the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager, collaborating closely to share relevant data and insights;

• Monitor the progress of activities at the Sub- Catchment level and provide timely feedback and guidance as needed;

• Identify capacity-building needs at the Sub- Catchment level and support the development and implementation of training programs for stakeholders as required;

• Facilitate knowledge sharing and learning exchanges among project stakeholders to enhance their understanding of project objectives and approaches;

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Diploma In a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Development Studies, Agriculture, or a related discipline;

• At least 3 years of experience working in community development, project management, or related fields, preferably in the context of rural development or environmental conservation;

• Strong understanding of community mobilization, stakeholder engagement, and capacity-building principles and techniques;

• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders including government officials, community leaders, and project beneficiaries:

• Proven experience in coordinating and facilitating meetings, workshops, and other events at the Sub-Catchment or community level;

• Experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, and reporting will be an advantage:

• Familiarity with the socio-economic and environmental context of Lesotho, particularly in the project Sub-Catchments, will be highly desirable;

• Fluency in English and Sesotho (both written and spoken) is required:

Attributes:

• Adherence and knowledge of health, child protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) and education issues;

• Excellent record of working children and young people. No past allegations of SEA:

• Ability to function with mature judgement, tact and diplomacy ensuring that Sentebale Policies and procedures are consistently complied with at all times:
