The position will be based at Philippi Village and the incumbent will be required to work across communities in Philippi Village and Gugulethu.
Employment Type:One Year Fixed Term Contract
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in a Health related field
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a research environment – with at least 1 years’ experience in co-ordination of studies, including field and data collection activities
At least 1 years’ experience in staff management
Computer literacy skills (Ms Office)
Good communication (verbal and writing) skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Detailed oriented
Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
Inquisitive and non-judgmental attitude
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as well as independently
Ability to maintain relations with internal and external stakeholders
Strong organisational and planning skills
Ability to work well under pressure and to maintain effectiveness during changing conditions
Willingness to work on Saturdays when required
Willing to work across communities in Philippi Village and Gugulethu
Advantageous:
Fluency isiXhosa
Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate
Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise study activities in Philippi Village (PV)/Gugulethu Research Office (GRO)
Manage study resources and have a tracking system
Write weekly reports and share with relevant staff and Principle Investigators (PI/s)
Ensure that all study activities are implemented as per protocol
Liaising with relevant stakeholders and maintaining relations
Quality control of logs, Informed Consent Foms (ICFs) data collection documents
Assist with randomisation process
Ensures that participants are followed up and receives relevant services (cohort)
Assist in managing the regulatory binder
Ensure that staff members have relevant Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Human Subject Protection (HSP) and signed on the delegation log
Reports Serious Adverse Event (SAE) to the Principle Investigator (PI)
Assist with staff training and identifying gaps
Chair study meetings and join calls with study collaborator/s (international and local)
