The Southern Africa Trust seeks to recruit a Strategic Grants Management and Learning Officer to join the Trust and contribute to our mission and ensure we have the capacity and skills as we implement our new strategy for the period 2021-2024.

        The main purpose of this role is to  oversee the award and allocation of grants, consolidate grantee reports and learning to inform the delivery of the Trust strategy. The role holder  will report to the Resource Mobilization and Fundraising Manager and will work closely with the programmes team and assist the Executive Office to develop and implement the grants strategy through effective procedures and policies. The role holder will ensure that best practice framework is in place and effectively manage all grantmaking processes of the Trust to ensure the Trust vison is achieved. To support the achievement of business strategy through the implementation of an integrated system including coordinating grants allocation, solicitation, disbursement and reporting for the Trust. To  coordinate capability initiatives for grantee of the Southern Africa Trust and also will be responsible for overseeing organisational learning that will facilitate the achievement of our strategic objectives.<br/> <br/> Key Responsibilities

Coordinates  the Southern Africa Trust’s grants facility including grants management, grants strategy, organisational learning and management reporting
Manages the performance of the organizational grants facility and ensure compliance with the grants policies and procedures
Ensure best practices on grants management and learning are documented and shared through various communication channels Responsible for Grant proposal, preperating, budgets and disbursements Provides management reports to the Executive Management team relating to Grants
Lead on the Trust Learning and Development, Monitoring and Evaluation and faciliates organisational learning
Coordinates and manages grants administration cycle including call for proposals, grant applications, disbursements and contracts.
Competency profile

The candidate must hold a  relevant  Master’s qualification and must also have at least 5 to 8 years of relevant experience with Grants Management. The candidate must demonstrate the following competencies: Sound understanding of capability management, grants systems and processes, In depth knowledge in grants acquisition, programming and management, Learning and Development Capable of generating consistently accurate and useful information to inform strategic planning and decisions; Understanding of Corporate governance principles; Operations support; Financial monitoring, Quality management. Policy implementation and compliance; Stakeholder relationships building; Project coordination; Understanding of Business Development and Sustainability principles; Understanding of poverty and inequality challenges and human rights development, must be highly motivated to deliver positive change.
