PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure all equipment is delivered to the respective customers correctly and in the required condition and timeously. Responsible and accountable for the efficient operation of the receiving and maintaining of all stock items.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Stores Operation
- Receives stock and checks quantity delivered relative to the amount on the delivery note and receipts of stock into SAP
- Bin materials in correct Bins according to SAP
- Does material counts while issuing and binning the materials and records on SAP, does stock taking, cycle counts and identifies all stores items when required
- Handle or transport the materials in a careful and safe manner
- Collects items from bins and issues them, checking that all relevant documents are signed correctly, also issuing the following: raw materials; lubricants; diesel; oils; protective clothing; felts; chemicals and any other item under stores control
- Relocate materials to new storage bins as and when required
- Maintain the security of the stores at all times by controlling and limiting access to the stores area and accompanies the customer should they require to observe or remove any stores item
- Perform housekeeping with the team – focus on area of responsibility, and ensure the stores comply with the 5S principles
- Ensure that the physical stock in the bin is as per SAP
- Offloading of trucks delivering any stores items or raw materials
- Obtain licenses to operate vehicles within the stores which include but are limited to: Overhead Crane; Stacker/Reach Truck and Forklift
- Do the materials maintenance activities as per schedule such as turning of shafts etc.
- Perform relevant tasks requested from Stores Supervisor/ Materials Manager
- Processes all picking lists and requisitions through the computer immediately after making an issues
- Ensures that the SAP System and business processes are adhered to
- Replenishes the free issue bins for nuts, bolts and washers
- Places all checked direct purchases and abnormal demands in the designated pigeon holes and informs originator to collect
- Conveys machined spare parts from receiving bay to Technical Inspector for checking
- Check returned to Stores stock items with the Technical Inspector or Stores Supervisor before placing into stock for re-issue purpose and ensure items are colour coded with return sticker
- Assist with Account Queries
- Manages all returns to Vendors and documents
- Ensure that Stores business processes are adhered to
Communication
- Co-ordinate with plant on receiving and delivering of materialsSHEQ
- Create a safe work environment by identifying and managing day to day risks
- Report accidents, injuries, fires, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions, immediately to the Stores Supervisor or Safety Representative
- Accountable to ensure adherence to all safety BP’s and procedures
- Ensure adherence to specific regulatory requirements
- Do 60 second risk assessments when required
- Do stores housekeeping walkabout and inspections and take corrective action where required
- Achieve 5S status in area of responsibility
- Carries out check lists on overhead crane, reach truck/stacker, forklift
Resources Utilisation
- Grade 12 or Equivalent
- Computer litracy
Minimum Experience
- 2 year clerical and engineering stores experience
