Job Title: Storeman
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To undertake work in connection with issuing store’s inventory and the maintenance of stock including timely good and services receipting in Sage. The Candidate will also be responsible to issue stock to internal customers; user departments. This position report to the Stores Controller.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & RELATED EXPERIENCE
• COSC / LGCSE
• 2 Years’ Stores/Warehouse experience
• 2 Year Experience on inventory management application
• 2 Year Experience on Sage application is preferred
• Exposure to warehousing in a mining environment and knowledge of logistics handling
• Microsoft Applications (Advanced Level)
• Code B driver’s license
• Forklift experience
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Receive and issue stock on Sage X3 module
• Correct Labelling of stock with system generated identification codes
• Timeous picking and accurate picking of stock according to requisitions and ensure availability to customers
• Off load deliveries – check invoice and make sure stock is correct and quantities are correct as per order
• Re-ordering of stock to ensure sufficient quantities are kept
• Adhere to company policies and processes
• Perform daily, weekly, quarterly cycle and stock counts and investigate variances
• Undertake daily stock inspections, maintain logbook.
• Perform daily housekeeping activities according to organisational requirements and standards
• Daily monitoring of stock levels
• Identify damage stock and report shortage or quality deficiency to Management
• Adhere to Health and Safety regulation requirements
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Knowledge of storage practices and procedures
• Knowledge of the value, terminology and use of supply chains and materials handled in the assigned store facilities
• Ability to work independently and build and maintain effective working relationships that require teamwork tasks
• Ability to handle physical and manual work
• Must be a quick learner
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
• Strong verbal and communication skills
• Be willing to work overtime when required
• Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions
