THINK is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by TB and HIV. As a health delivery and research organisation, THINK engages with the local community, government consortia, and international funders to provide care for over 100,000 people in KwaZulu-Natal and carry out cutting-edge clinical research that has already contributed to changing treatment guidelines internationally and locally.
THINK is looking for a Stakeholder Relations Officer who will implement the stakeholder engagement activities, represent THINK at partner forums and manage relationships with external partners in KwaZulu Natal. The aim of the project is to safeguard advances of TB treatment by strengthening the TB health care platform in the district. The Stakeholder Relations Officer will be based in KwaZulu-Natal Province – Hillcrest and report to the THINK Deputy Chief of Party.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Support the implementation community engagement and stakeholder relations across projects
Participate in the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement strategy
Participate in development of activities at community and partner level to improve services of the TB program
Conduct stakeholder mapping across districts where TB services are implemented
Develop and maintain an updated stakeholder directory
Alignment of Project objectives with THINK Strategic intent including funder expectations and requirements
Participate in various community platforms and represent THINK at key forums/meetings i.e., SANAC, Premier’s meetings, operational Sukuma Sakhe/WarRoom meetings, awareness campaigns, provincial AIDS council meetings.
Support the execution of the beneficiary assessments.
Track and support current MOUs with stakeholders
Support the current programmes to educate the community members about the projects and to support active community participation and ownership in THINK supported districts
Engage with relevant stakeholders in line with Community Engagement Plans and reinforce a positive representation of THINK to the Community.
Be passionate about making a difference and add value to THINK
Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies/Public Administration and Governance, or related field
3 – 5 years’ experience working experience in a stakeholder relations/management role
3 or more years’ experience in a community outreach environment, community-based education activities with a good understanding of local communities, their norms and culture
Knowledge and understanding of local structures e.g., community, political and the Provincial, district and facility level Department of Health.  Participation in these structures will be an added advantage
Computer literacy in MS Office Suite
Valid Driver’s License
Clear criminal record
Previous work experience in NGOs or funded programmes will be an advantage.
