Job Role and Responsibilities

The Multi-Cloud Practice is a team of specialists owning and driving business development for VMware’s strategic partners and customers. Working primarily with AMER based accounts, you preferably are based in Southern EMEA region.

In your role as Multi-Cloud Strategist, you will provide thought leadership in terms of multi-cloud strategy, service monetization, GTM strategy as well as business case creation. In addition, you will evangelize and amplify our message speaking at public and community events and communicating through various social channels. Both internally and externally, you will work with C-level executives, VP and Director. In essence, your objective is to increase consumption of VMware based services and to drive product adoption.

You will guide cross-functional initiatives for high-profile accounts, run executive workshops, represent VMware at executive forums, and support sales teams with strategy definition, methodologies best practices and industry trends.

Managing and Advising Accounts

  • Provide thought leadership and presales consultancy for both partner and direct RTM
  • Share expertise in cloud market trends and opportunities
  • Develop partner cloud and GTM strategy in alignment with VMware’s Any App on Any Cloud on Any Device with a speciality focus on VMware’s Networking and Telco solutions
  • Provide guidance for service offerings strategy and service monetization / cross-charge
  • Share best practices for Marketing and Sales GTM
  • Develop cost and business plans
  • Build business relationship with C-level executives, heads of portfolio, product management, sales, presales and delivery organization
  • Triangulate Sales, Marketing and Architectural Design


Thought Leadership

  • Self-enable on latest cloud market trends and consolidate into our group’s thought leadership portfolio
  • Share new market insights and thought leadership through various social channel networks
  • Speak at industry and partner events about our strategy and service monetization opportunities
  • Closely collaborate with VMware’s marketing, product marketing, technical marketing and product management teams


Requirements

  • 15+ years of IT experience with holding various positions as cloud portfolio manager, business development manager or architect
  • 3+ year experience of networking and Telco services market
  • Authority on cloud technology and market
  • Deep understanding of Cloud business models and Go-to-Market strategies
  • Expertise in delivering complex solutions in provider organizations
  • Very good knowledge of datacentre market and services
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with decision makers including executives, finance, portfolio managers, and technical teams
  • Thorough knowledge of IT-Architecture from infrastructure and software development perspective
  • Proficient understanding of VMware technology, competitive solutions and realizable benefits through adoption of VMware solutions
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing strategies within financial lifecycles including planning budgets, articulating Return-on-Investment (ROI), calculating the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and organizational design
  • Proven track record in creating thought leadership assets
  • Preferred deep knowledge in Network and Managed Services in general
  • Business proficiency in Spanish or French language
  • Flexibility to travel 50% of time, able to perform well in intense conditions
  • Business writing skills (white papers, blog posts, etc)
