Sports Support Officer
The Department of Student Affairs invites suitable applications for One (1) position of Sport Support Officer(1310). The candidate must be a Mosotho national, display sober habits, demonstrate a sense of responsibility, maturity and discipline.
He/she will perform duties as stated below. The appointment is on permanent and pensionable terms of service.
Qualifications: The applicant must possess:
- A Cambridge Overseas School Certificate (COSC)/LGCSE)
- A valid public drivers’ license
- Any Sport -specific Coaching Certificate.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years working experience with students, adults and groups of people.
- Experience of working in a Sporting environment.
- Ability to carry out day-to day inventory management of DSA Storage Keeping.
- Understanding and Passionate in working with, young people in University Sports, Recreation and Culture activities.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Physical training
- Strong Work Ethics (Integrity, Honest, Disciplined<Fair & Respect and Responsible & Accountable)
- Sports coaching/refereeing
- Good command of English language (spoken/written)
- Must be able to maintain professional working relationship with students and staff.
- Computer literate.
- Manage confidential information and discretion and integrity.
Duties
- Run errands for the Director’s office.
- Act as appoint of contact for staff/ students for borrowing sports equipment.
- Check and monitor users of the gym to ensure on an updated subscription record.
- Keep law and order in the University’s Sports, Recreation and Entertainment
- Keep inventory of all, report losses/replacements and damages to property.
- To be able to assist in the training and coaching of gym clients
- Liaise with relevant University departments on all matters pertaining to the smooth running of functions at the hall and gym Centre
- Work after hours in the normal discharge of his duties.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned to him from time to time by the Dean of Student Affairs.

Appointment is on a permanent and pensionable basis for locals.
