KKM JV (a joint venture among YELLOW RIVER CO. LTD., SINOHYDRO BUREAU 3 CO. LTD., UNIK CIVIL ENGINEERING PTY LTD.) are the honorable Contractor for the CONSTRUCTION OF POLIHALI Transfer Tunnel Lesotho Highlands Water Project–Phase II. The works via Katse Reservoir, through the Transfer Tunnel and Delivery Tunnel, to the Ash River Outfall between Clarens and Bethlehem in South Africa. From the Ash River, the water flows down the Liebenbergsvlei until it joins the Wilge River near Frankfort, before finally reaching the Vaal Dam in Gauteng, South Africa.
We now invite applications from qualified Lesotho Nationals & South Africans for the positions of Specialized Core Drill Operators for Lake Tap Exploration, which requires drilling from a large over water.

Specialized Core Drilling Machine Operators, working from a barge, for Geological Investigation below the level
2. Number of recruits:

3. Location of work:
Katse Dam reservoir with water depth of 70–80 meter in drilling area. The drilling will be undertaken from a barge.
4. Work period:
- The expected employment period is three months, subject to appropriate adjustments depending on the progress of the project.
5. Job responsibilities:
- Operate geological investigation core drilling machine on a floating platform (barge) in the reservoir and take cores from reservoir bottom out of the water to investigate the ground condition. Assist technicians in drilling records, data acquisition and equipment maintenance.
- Strictly implement the on-site safety management system to ensure the safe and controllable operational process; complete other related tasks as arranged by the project leader.
- Correctly operate the drilling machine to ensure:
(1) the coring rods go down straight and vertically, so that the position of each hole collar complies with design position within 200cm tolerance.
(2) the coring rods go down straightly and vertically such that the vertical deflection angle shall not exceed 5 degrees.
6. Requirements for appointment:
- Have practical experience working on exploration projects similar to lakebed or underwater exploration from a barge.
- Familiar with the operation and maintenance of drilling equipment used to drill from a floating platform (barge) and have on-site adaptability.
- Healthy, adept at operation in marine/over water environment, have good team cooperation ability.
- Priority is given to those who hold a relevant specialty operating certificate or a qualification in drilling from a floating platform, and have experience in working with bentonite and intact recovery of core samples from under water.
