We have the below vacancy available in our Organisation:

The H band Specialist: Service Assurance role based within Technology Business Unit.

The role of the Specialist: Service Assurance is to maintain a multi-vendor transmission network reliably and at scale by using sharp and tenacious troubleshooting skills to keep systems and services running smoothly with high availability.


Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Transmission network (IP/MPLS and WDM), hardware and software systems to ensure end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services.

  • Conduct proactive maintenance and participate in network projects meant to improve service availability and performance.

  • Collaborate with internal Engineering teams to maintain services that spans multiple domains.

  • Participate in standby roster with other members of the team providing high-level support, and solving complex issues.


The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Matric (Essential)

  • Degree or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (Essential)

  • Certification (CCNA, CCNP)

  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VRRP)

  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting optical networks (DWDM, OTN)

  • Experience working in a multi-vendor environment with hands-on experience with networking hardware

The base location for this role is Midrand, Techno Park
