Objective of the job:

Mercedes-Benz SA is looking for a Legal Specialist to provide general legal and compliance support service to the various companies within MBSA with regard to all commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, as well as product liability and consumer protection act claims in compliance to the Company’s Integrity Codes to inform superior about deviations.

Main Tasks:

Legal advice and recommendations. Accurate and appropriate at all times, offers no risk or prejudice towards the Company and all relevant information provided.

Draft contracts. Risk free, no prejudice to Company, according to instructions received and accurate in business and legal content and terminology.

Signed-off external/internal contracts. Accurate in line with agreed upon terms, facilitated through meetings held to discuss and negotiate relevant terms.

Correspondence. Incorporates litigation matters concluded timeously, drafts aligned to customer complaints/ dissatisfaction with due consideration of legal and business requirements includes detailed subject matter obtained from relevant department under signature.

Communication and feedback. Open communication channels internally and externally facilitates customer satisfaction, all reports to relevant management and clients as per agreed process and in agreed format.

Toscar controls. Compliance of all business operations/processes according to set policies. Responsible for the performance, maintenance and reporting of ICS controls.

Specific Knowledge:

Functional knowledge of litigation

Client management

Corporate and commmercial agreements especially SLAs and financing agreements

Court processes

Company law

Advanced drafting skills

Communication skills

Experience:

Admitted attorney with 3 to 5 years post qualification experience in a general legal environment
