Objectives of the Position:

Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) is looking for a Specialist Learning & Development in the Passenger Vehicles division. Execute HRD Competence Development Specialist functions to dealers and all lines of business in compliance with the Company’s Integrity Code and inform superior about deviations.

Responsibilities:


Analyse, design, develop and Assess Learning Interventions:

  • Analyse and Design learning interventions in accordance with legislative and business requirements. Sign-off to be obtained within 2weeks/1 month of request – dependent on the project.
  • Scope and Design Sales Training projects or with service provider (where necessary) & LoB to meet business and legislative requirements.

  • Develop Sales learning interventions according to signed-off Design within 1 month after Design.

  • Facilitate Practical Assessments at Assessment Centres. Conduct / Design & Develop learner assessments practically and theoretically pre, during and after intervention as well as during assessment centres as required by the learning interventions. Ensure that assessments are marked by no later than 3 days after course. Provide feedback to learners and advise on remedial action and further development. Where concerns and risks are identified, provide feedback to dealer management by the latest 3 days after concern has been identified.

  • Ensure that the Design for the respective skills programmes are completed according to the ADDIE model design standards by the given deadline. Obtain sign-off from Line of Business and MBSA Daimler Training Academy Team Leader and Management by the deadline date agreed to.

  • Ensure that the Skills Programmes are registered according to the designs.

  • Develop or source training interventions for the relevant Skills Programmes that meet with legislative and business requirements. Ensure that developed material meets the requirements of Outcomes Based Principles and the design documents. Development to be signed off within 1 month of completed design. DVDS – 2 months.


Source External Facilitators:

  • Develop the RFQ as per the DTA template and submit to Procurement within 1 week of decision to go to tender

  • Develop a tender brief and provider presentation briefing session in line with procurement within 1 week of finalisation of dates for presentation.

  • Develop a Scope of Work and submit to procurement to finalise provider selection process within 1 week of provider selection.

  • Ensure that the appointed Service Provider meets the requirements to execute the required services, and that there is a signed SLA/contract in place. Evidence of facilitation accreditation to be received before training is conducted.


Project Management and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure courses are cancelled prior to penalty period.

  • Source, equip, guide, support & monitor Service Providers’ performance.

  • Ensure that all logistics are in place before, during and after the training interventions.

  • Action queries within 3 days of receipt.

  • Compile reports and provide feedback to stakeholders and DTA at least 2 weeks post course.

  • Communicate achievements, risks, challenges and concerns to stakeholders as and when required.

  • Monthly reports on Status of Portfolio to be done by the seventh of every month.

  • Weekly Project action plans to be communicated and discussed with Team Leader.

  • Update Project Status in the Project Office Monthly by the seventh of each month.

  • Conduct quality control, assess, moderate and evaluate at least 3 training intervention per quarter.

  • Provide feedback to relevant stakeholders within 2 weeks of evaluation.

  • Conduct Stakeholder feedback meetings to LOB monthly on Project status.


Communicate and Market implementation strategies. Prepare, Present, Facilitate and Evaluate portfolio related training sessions
:

  • Training Facilitation. Apply the Global Trainer methodology and facilitate Mercedes-Benz Sales training courses effectively by: (1) ensuring that the necessary logistics including training material has been finalised 5 days prior to commencement of training This includes but is not limited to vehicles, special tools / Systems, venues, training manuals, equipment and travel arrangements. (2) Outcomes Based methodology is applied – 30% theory and 70% application. (3) Delegates are assessed prior to training and after training, and a POE is issued as a summative assessment per programme.

  • Training Management. Trainers must complete summary of statement of results and submit the latest 3 days after course.

  • Written trainer’s report and submit by the latest 5 days after course. Follow-up and ensure that certificates are issued by month-end where required by course.

  • Submit consolidated results report to Team Leader by the seventh of each Month for each course.

  • Ensure that Service Provider communication to delegates regarding POEs are conducted as per agreed timelines.

  • Ensure that a Service Provider Trainers Evaluation is completed as per the DAG Training evaluation per trainer.


Performance Consulting & Coaching:

  • Develop Quick Reference Guides per training process – aligned to Global Sales Process Consulting and obtain sign-off from the Team Leader.

  • Conduct IDAPT at minimum 3 dealers per quarter in conjunction with your Team Leader and Service Provider. Write feedback report and submit by the latest day 3 of visit.

  • Ensure projects are monitored on a monthly basis. All risk areas to be escalated and addressed accordingly. Provide feedback to the relevant stakeholders timeously. Dealers to be observed/Coached & mentored on the job for specific Training interventions.

  • To keep the HR and HRD staff of the respective dealer groups informed regarding new strategies/implementations and to build a collaborative relationship with the dealer network’s HR and HRD managers.

  • Conduct at least 1 HR Workgroup Session per quarter to engage with Dealer HR and HRD stakeholders and provide DTA feedback

  • Conduct at least 2 Learning Co-ordinator sessions annually.


Dealer Academy Alignment project:

  • Develop a QRG for the ADDIE process as per the project timelines.

  • Conduct workshops on the ADDIE process as per the project timelines.

  • Conduct and Facilitate the training session on ADDIE process for all DTA Trainers & CDS as per the project timelines.

  • Ensure that all training interventions and material is developed using the ADDIE process as per the project timelines.

  • Implementation and rollout of the ADDIE Project as per the agreed timelines.

Compliance:

  • Comply with all MBSA Compliance policies, rules and regulations. Ensure that MBSA is not placed in disrepute by behaviour your during and after work hours.

  • Finalise all training claims by adhering to MBSA compliance no later than 3 days after regional training has been conducted. Ensure that all trainers and providers have signed NDAs prior to attending any meetings, receiving any information and conducting any training.

  • Ensure all training activities are implemented according to the prescribed training SOPs.

MS Word, Excel and Power point proficient

Knowledge of the Motor Industry


Experience:

3-5 years’ experience in Instruction design.

3-5 years’ experience in project management.
