Position: Sourcing Co-ordinator
Position Title: Sourcing Co-ordinator, Wabtec SA
Reporting To: Sourcing Leader, Wabtec SA
Reporting Relationship: No
Primary Purpose of Role: Position will serve as the local owner for sourcing for the supply of locally manufactured components into our manufacturing and customer service businesses. These responsibilities include the development, communication and execution of strategies to ensure realization of the business objectives for project, which includes the Cost of Bill of Materials, Target Costing, Should-Be Costing activities, identifying suppliers and supporting planning of incoming materials. Grow the localization activities for steel fabrications, castings, machining, pneumatic parts tied to contract requirements.
Primary Objectives:
- Localize the manufacturing of fabricated and machined parts
- Leading the development & execution of our local and international sourcing strategies. This includes supplier selection, development, and supplier consolidation to ensure sourcing optimization and overall supplier performance.
- Leading sourcing execution for assigned commodity(s) or suppliers, including full accountability for buy and meeting deflation targets.
- Performing detailed cost analysis of components & manufacturing processes used by our suppliers to ensure highest quality at the lowest cost solution.
- Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance and developing improvement strategies to ensure business needs are met.
- Partnering with key business stakeholders to ensure sourced material and services meet the needs of the business.
- Driving improvements in sourcing processes including escalations due to delivery/quality issues, invoicing/payables issues, and database management.
- Capture the local content and configuration for manufactured items
- Liaise with Company engineers, SQE’s to guide suppliers to maintain the product requirements.
- Ability to negotiate contracts and amend old contracts.
Formal Education/Training
- Technical Degree and/or Commercial degree.
- 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to technical manufacturing drawings
Essential work skills
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and Procurement
- 3 – 5 years of commercial sourcing experience in sourcing
- Excellent negotiations skills and analytical skills with the ability to manage and develop supplier relationships
- Ability to energize, develop and build rapport at all levels within an organization
- Proven ability to execute and deliver on commitments
- Experience implementing a compliant supply chain
- Contract negotiations
- Supplier health analysis (Capacity, financial, risk)
- Foundry, Fabrication and Machining, pneumatic parts buy is an advantage
