SORTHOUSE SUPERVISOR – PATERSON CU (1 x Vacancy)
PURPOSE: Supervisory role responsible for planning, leading and controlling daily Sorthouse activities to ensure optimal productivity, efficiency and accuracy within the Sorthouse.
Duties & Responsibilities
MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, motivate and support the Production Sorters to achieve efficient sorting performance.
- Perform daily sorting audits to prevent diamond loss.
- Prepare sorting efficiency reports for shift Production Sorters and advise accordingly for improvement.
- Prepare and report daily diamond production figures inclusive of the +4.80ct diamond descriptions.
- Maintain good housekeeping within the Sorthouse.
- Ensure process accuracy regarding daily diamond accounting systems.
- Conduct the general Sorthouse administrative tasks as per the Sorthouse standards.
- Ensure adherence to the Sorthouse and security procedures.
- Maintain good liaison with the Production teams to ensure optimal production efficiencies.
- Advise the Recovery & Sorthouse Superintendent on current / potential factors that may have an influence on diamond production or diamond security.
- May act as the Recovery & Sorthouse Superintendent in their absence.
Desired Experience & Qualification
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- A COSC qualification with a rough diamond evaluation course.
- More than 3 years’ Sorthouse Supervisory level experience.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Good interpersonal and supervisory skills.
- Knowledge and experience of diamond sorting operations.
- Strong quality orientation and attention to detail in terms of work standards.
- Detailed knowledge of the Red Area security requirements.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
- Candidates will be required to undergo a Medical Examination of fitness as per requirements.
- Candidates will be required to undergo Letšeng Mine pre-employment integrity testing, including polygraph examinations & background checks.
