Letšeng seeks to engage a qualified professional with the appropriate skills and aptitude to fill the position of:
SORTHOUSE SUPERVISOR – PATERSON CU (1 x Vacancy)
PURPOSE:
This is a supervisory role responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and controlling the production sorting activities. The main focus of this role is to drive the achievement of production objectives, namely optimized diamond recovery effectiveness and production throughput, in a safe, secure, and efficient manner.
MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, motivate, and support Production Sorters to ensure efficient sorting performance
- Conduct daily check sorting of concentrate and provide reports on sorting efficiency with in-depth analysis for improvement
- Responsible for daily diamond accounting and ensure accuracy as per Sorthouse procedures
- Maintain good housekeeping within the Sorthouse
- Ensure adherence to security procedures by subordinates
- Prepare and report accurate diamond statistics and other required reports, with emphasis on the diamond accounting system
- Advise the Recovery & Sorthouse Superintendent of any efficiency, productivity, HSE, or security issues
- Conduct general Sorthouse administrative tasks
- Maintain acceptable employee relations
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
- Identify staff training needs and conduct in-house training based on performance reviews
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- COSC qualification and a post-school certificate in diamond grading and evaluation
- More than 3 years of diamond sorting experience
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Effective verbal and written communication across all levels
- Good interpersonal, planning, organizing, leading, and controlling skills
- High attention to detail and strong quality orientation
- Proficiency in relevant computer software and functionality
- Sound knowledge of diamond handling procedures and practices
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates will be required to undergo Letšeng Mine pre-employment integrity testing, including polygraph examinations and background checks.
