Soofia holds a symposium on the increasing challenge of traditional education by 4IR

On the 3rd October 2019, Soofia International School held the 3rd Soofia Independence Symposium. The high powered symposium tagged the “The Increasing Challenge of Traditional Education by Fourth Industrial Revolution” was graced with the presence of the Principal Secretary of Basic Education, Dr Liphoto.

Amongst the presenters of the day, who talked about different topics was the Commissioner General of Lesotho Revenue Authority, Mr Thabo Khasipe, Mr Tonderai Muchenje from Tswane University of Technology, Mrs Likeleli Letsie (National University of Lesotho) and Ms Mamothokoane Tlali an Engineer working at Econet Telecom Lesotho.

The topics discussed were :

1. Can the present Education System / Curriculum Prepare Today’s Students for Challenges and the Opportunities Presented by 4IR.

2.The roles of stakeholders in Education Fraternity in 4IR.

3. How Technologies and Humanities can equip Students for 4IR.

The topics were presented by the the above mentioned speakers of the day while Soofia students gave presentations based on their understanding of the topic.

There was also an exhibition of projects by students. The projects demonstrated were based on automation and also educational.
