Childline Western Cape seeks to appoint a Social Worker to be based in Mitchell’s Plain, Cape Town.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualification:
Degree in Social Work
Registered with the SACSSP
A clean record with the Child Protection and Sexual Offences registers
Experience in the following fields would be an advantage:
Providing therapeutic counselling to sexually abused and traumatized children
Initiating and facilitating therapeutic support and life skills groups with children
Initiating and presenting Child Protection Prevention and Early Intervention programmes with children and adults
Developing and presenting community programmes and involvement in community development
Developing and presenting relevant programmes for youth and involvement in youth development
Knowledgeable of South African legislation regarding children and the Child Protection field
Compiling monthly and quarterly statistics and writing reports
Researching community issues and trends
Networking with welfare and other agencies
Initiating and confirming relevant referral services
Excellent communication, public speaking and written skills
Excellent administration skills
Language proficiency: English, Afrikaans (essential), and Xhosa (optional)
Fully computer literate
Valid Driver’s Licence and own vehicle an advantage
