Position Overview
Position Summary:
The Social Work Programme Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the National Programme Manager in coordinating working relationship with Gauteng Department of Social Development in support of the implementation of interventions under the GCBS programme. The Coordinator with further provide direct support to GCBS Social work Coordinators, Social Workers and Social Auxiliary Workers to ensure that programme targets and priorities are successfully implemented.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively participates in the management and oversight of the design, planning and implementation of GCBS programme activities within allocated district
- Provides inputs into the development of a detailed provincial and district specific workplan and schedule of deliverable in line with provincial priorities and priorities within the GCBS workplan
- Facilitate a working relationship with key DSD provincial personnel in support of the implementation of GCBS workplan.
- Support the National Programme Manager in oversight of district implementation by coordinating the development and actioning of district specific work plans focusing on reaching GCBS targets
- To facilitate weekly individual and monthly group sessions to support and oversee to GCBS Social Work Coordinators, assisting them with challenges and task within the district work plan.
- Ensure that the following activities under the GCBS work plan are addressed:
· Capacity support for NPOs
· Case Management interventions across both service point and NPOs
· Implementation of the PEI Core Package of Services
· Implementation of Child Protection Interventions
· Development of partnerships and active referrals for HTS
· Roll out of Social Behaviour Change Communication programmes
· Activation of foster care caseloads
- Support in planning and roll out of GCBS data collection processes
Basic Requirements
3.1 Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work
3.2 Experience
- 3 years of relevant experience in social work; within the child protection sector would be preferable
- Previous experience working with or within the South African Government, preferably at DSD or similar agency is preferable;
3.3 Other Qualifications
- Fully computer literate
- Must be fluent in English and any local indigenous South African languages;
- Must be registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals;
- Should be in possession of a valid driver’s license and own car
4. General
- Perform functions with a view to safeguarding the best interest of Pact
- Ensure that regular backups of all systems strengthening data are completed
- Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by delegated Supervisor
