Wanted: A SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST who will spread our message far and wide. Precision Nutrition is looking for an experienced social media and influencer marketing expert who’s passionate about health, fitness and helping people live their best life. Precision Nutrition is growing, and we need a sales-focused social media guru who can manage and grow our online presence. As one of the largest nutrition coaching companies in the world, PN is bigger than it’s ever been — and it’s about to get bigger. To help us scale, we need someone who knows how to craft a content calendar, make sense of analytics, and manage a growing crew of brand ambassadors so we can help millions more people live healthier, happier lives.
Join our Adventure
We’re embarking on a new adventure, and we need a savvy, shrewd editor to bring voice to our mission. We’ve got an exciting journey ahead of us…Over the next 10 years, Precision Nutrition is focused on integrating its world-class nutrition education and certification programs, ProCoach coaching software, and PN Academy continuing education platform into a combined offering. We will also expand our offering to other domains in health and fitness such as movement, sleep, recovery and stress management. To help us reach our goals and keep us moving forward, we need a social media specialist who knows how to engage an audience and cultivate a team of influencers that’ll bring new people into the fold.
Who we’re looking for
- A digital guru who lives and breathes social media.
- You know the tools of the trade. You’re more than passingly familiar with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, and Pinterest. You understand the lingo, the mysterious algorithms that drive them, and how features like Stories and Reels factor into a smart social media strategy. You can even bend them to your will with scheduling tools like HootSuite, dive into in-channel analytics, and are maybe even familiar with tools like Heap and Tableau. If you can do some basic image editing in Photoshop, all the better.
- You can put proverbial pen to paper. You not only have an eye for good writing, but you can put thoughts into words better than anyone you know. You don’t get stuck in a single style, and can alter your tone from Pinterest to LinkedIn on a dime, crafting the messaging for each channel’s unique audience and harnessing the power of the CTA to drive sales.
- You can switch gears at the drop of a hat. You’re a highly organized problem-solver with the ability to multitask and re-prioritize your work in a changing environment. You’re okay with things shifting as new information is available, and you can plan as you go. You don’t mind managing multiple projects, and have the ability to juggle a few things at once.
- You love to analyze and solve problems. You know how to research, analyze, synthesize, recommend and implement creative and innovative solutions. And you love to learn from the process by conducting post-project retrospectives to quantify issues and opportunities that lead to recommendations for new projects and updated processes.
- You’re an innovator. You aren’t content with just sticking to “best practices.” You’re always open to new ideas, and you want to define your own set of best practices that make sense for the company—and how they’re implemented.
- You’re an exceptional communicator. You know how to inspire and be heard. You know the importance of communication, especially when to speak up and when to listen. You aren’t afraid to ask questions and get clarity when you need it, and you’re quick to respond when someone needs your help.
- You’re a team-oriented, people person. You earn and give respect so that you can collaborate effectively across the organization. Oh, and since you get to do all of this remotely, from the comfort of your home, and you won’t be going into an office every day to wrangle the team—your teamwork skills are truly top notch.
- You pay attention to the details. This is natural for you. You dream about dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s. Nothing slips by the net when you’re goalie.
What you’ll be doing
Crafting and executing our social media messaging…
Your mission is simple: bring even more people to PN through engaging dissemination of our awesome content, so people can start living their healthiest lives. That includes:
- Building the content calendar. You decide what gets posted where, when, and how we should layer content in between channels, ensuring the time and place is as optimized as possible.
- Writing and editing social media content. You’ll work with designers, copywriters, and our marketing and content & editorial teams to understand our marketing strategy and turn that into captivating content for Instagram, Facebook, and other social platforms.
- Working with moderators. While you won’t have to moderate comments and messages on your own, you will work with the moderation team to ensure questions and concerns are being responded to in a positive and timely manner.
- Analyzing and improving performance. With a bevy of analytics tools at your disposal, you’ll dive deep into lead generation, lead nurture, and sales strategy to ensure we’re making the most of our social media channels. You’ll build weekly reports and partner with the analytics and insights team to optimize as much of that data as possible.
…and growing our list of first-class influencers
You’ll also be scaling our new influencer marketing program, growing our community of brand ambassadors. That means:
- Expanding our roster of influencers. You’ll find potential candidates, then research them to make sure they’re on-brand and have the audience parameters we’re looking for.
- Supporting old and new partners. By establishing relationships with influencers—existing and newly minted—you’ll ensure they have everything they need to spread the word about PN.
- Honing best practices. Not only will you help craft our influencer marketing strategy, but you’ll keep up to date on FTC guidelines and other rulesets so our campaigns go off without a hitch.
A few important caveats
This is a dream job, if you’re the right person for it.
Must-Have #1: You must be experienced.
This isn’t your first rodeo. You have 3-5 years of experience in B2C social media, ideally managing social media accounts for a brand (with influencer marketing or PR experience as a plus). You understand the business side of social media, especially Instagram, and can handle an audience of over 1 million followers. You can point to past projects where you drove a meaningful number of sales or significantly grew a brand’s social media presence. Bonus points if you’ve managed influencers or have experience in the health and wellness space
Must-Have #2: You have excellent writing skills.
You’re a master of grammar and style. You can write clean copy without much guidance, and edit others when called for.
Must-Have #3: You must be passionate about what you do.
Social media isn’t just another job—it’s your calling. You’ve always got your finger on the pulse of emerging trends and strategies, as well as new platforms worth capitalizing on—we don’t have a presence on TikTok and Snapchat yet, but you’re the person to bring us there.
Wondering if this is the right path for you?
Every year, professionals at the top of their field choose to join Precision Nutrition.
Here are some reasons why.
Reason #1: We give you the freedom to “do you.”
Unlike most companies, we don’t have rigid rules about how and when to do things. You’ll always be free to work independently, whenever, wherever, and however you want.
Reason #2: You can work from anywhere.
We’re a 100% remote company, and have been working remote for 17 years. When you join our team, you’re no longer shackled to one desk, one office, one city, or even one country!
Reason #3: Meetings are optional. (No, really.)
You’re an adult. You’re capable of deciding how your time should be spent. If you don’t think you need to attend a meeting, you don’t. Simple as that.
Reason #4: You’ll always feel supported.
In a regular office, it’s easy to feel like a hamster in a wheel, powerless to change things. At Precision Nutrition, we work as a team to overcome issues & barriers that stand in each other’s way, and we treat each other with enthusiasm, compassion, and care.
Reason #5: You’ll never be bored.
People often come to Precision Nutrition after hitting a plateau in their old jobs. At PN, you’ll get the chance to conquer new challenges, learn from the best, and reach thrilling new heights of personal and professional growth.
Reason #6: You’re free to be you.
At Precision Nutrition, we want everyone to live healthier, happier lives—no matter your race, age, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. That’s why diversity is a key ingredient of our workforce, so we can best represent the people we serve. Everyone is welcome—as an inclusive workplace, we want our employees to bring their authentic whole selves to work. Be you.
Plus: no commute … and no 9-to-5 grind.
