Position Overview:
Basotho Solutions is seeking a passionate and creative Social Media Manager Volunteer to join our team. As a volunteer, you will play a key role in enhancing our online presence, engaging with the youth community, and spreading awareness about our mission and activities related to youth empowerment, climate change, and sustainable agriculture. You will work closely with the communications team and other stakeholders to develop and implement an effective social media strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to support Basotho Solutions’ mission and goals.
– Create, curate, and schedule engaging content across multiple social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
– Monitor, analyze, and report on social media metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns.
– Respond to messages, comments, and inquiries across social media platforms in a timely and professional manner.
– Collaborate with the content team to ensure the alignment of social media campaigns with Basotho Solutions’ projects and initiatives.
– Increase youth engagement and interaction with the organization’s social media profiles.
– Stay up to date with the latest trends in social media, climate change, sustainable agriculture, and youth empowerment.
– Promote upcoming events, campaigns, and initiatives through targeted social media outreach.
– Assist in creating multimedia content (e.g., videos, graphics, infographics) to visually represent our work.
– Collaborate with other youth-led organizations and partners to enhance online visibility and reach.
Qualifications:
– Passion for social media, youth empowerment, climate change mitigation, and sustainable agriculture.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Creative thinking with the ability to develop engaging content.
– Familiarity with social media platforms and tools (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
– Basic knowledge of social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Canva, etc.) is preferred.
– Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
– A strong understanding of youth-related issues and climate action initiatives in Lesotho or similar contexts is a plus.
– Enthusiasm for collaborating with a diverse team.
