MES is a Christian integrated social development organisation that has been changing the heart of the city since 1986 and has been actively working towards providing sustainable solutions to pervasive poverty in the inner cities of Johannesburg, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Kempton Park in South Africa.

MES seeks to appoint a Social Auxiliary Work to be based in Soweto.

The job purpose is to provide assistance and support to the Social Worker and the team in ensuring that the daily operations are running smoothly. Facilitate the Ikusasa programme and maintain the relationship with all stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide assistance and support to the Social Workers with rendering of a Social Work Service with regard to the care, support, protection and development of the vulnerable individuals and community.
Do all the intake for the facility.
Open and update the client’s files.
Participate in case conferences.
Undertake educational, preventative and developmental programmes in accordance to client’s needs.
Conduct assessments, compile IDP’s and monitor implementation thereof.
Facilitate family reunification exit strategy for clients.
Conduct individual, group and family counselling.
Plan and implement appropriate interventions and programmes.
Do house visits/ follow-up in accordance with the IDP.
Keep records and complete monthly stats.
Facilitate the Ikusasa programme.
Participate in open days as required.
Requirements:
Required Qualification & Knowledge:
Qualification in Social Auxiliary Work
Registration with SACSSP
Drivers Licence
At least 1 year working experience
Organising and presentation skills
Administration skills
Communications skills
Report writing skills
Competence:
Working with people
Ability to work under pressure
Motivated to work with people in need
Planning and organising
Teamwork
