SNOW GROOMER
Afriski Mountain Resort invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Snow Groomer at its site at Mahlasela Pass.
Job Responsibilities
You will:
• Perform nightly grooming duties of ski slopes during the winter season
• Conduct pre‑Pisten‑Bully checks and handle fuelling
• Operate snow‑grooming machines correctly and responsibly
• Groom and maintain the snow surface on ski slopes by smoothing bumps, redistributing snow, and creating an even and consistent surface for skiing and snowboarding
• Prepare trails before public opening by shaping snow and clearing obstacles or debris
Requirements
• Grade 12 certificate or international equivalent
• Physically fit and mobile, with no back, leg, or arm problems
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English
• Ability to learn and use job‑related equipment and machinery within set time frames
• Ability to listen, understand, and carry out work instructions correctly and on time
• Willing and able to live at the resort if and when necessary
• Willing and able to work overtime
• Familiarity with Health and Safety rules, preferably in a similar environment
• Honest, sober habits; conscientious and reliable
