About the Position
Lesotho Electricity Company (Pty) Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified Lesotho nationals for the position of Small Customers Manager in the Customer Experience Division.
Qualifications, Experience and Other Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- BSc in Electrical Engineering, BEng in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Specialised training in Energy Management is essential.
- Training or experience in Utility Management, Smart Grid Technologies, Metering Systems, or Utility Management will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in electricity metering, operations, customer metering services, or distribution engineering, of which at least three (3) years must have been in a supervisory role.
- Excellent interpersonal and people-management skills.
- Computer literacy and report-writing skills.
- A valid driver’s licence.
Key Performance Areas
1. Meter Installation and Metering
- Manage large-scale meter installation programmes.
- Maintain meter commissioning and acceptance testing records.
- Inspect service connection installations before energisation.
- Manage meter replacement and upgrade programmes.
2. Meter Fault Management
- Oversee the replacement and recommissioning of faulty meters.
- Manage the customer supply restoration process.
- Coordinate and communicate fault-resolution activities.
- Monitor and resolve network-related metering issues.
3. Meter Testing and Quality Assurance
- Develop and implement meter testing and quality assurance programmes.
- Recommend meter replacement, refurbishment, and upgrades.
- Monitor meter quality performance, analyse test results, and implement corrective actions.
4. Smart Metering
- Oversee the installation and integration of smart meters.
- Prepare and present reports on smart metering performance.
- Analyse smart meter data to identify consumption trends and tampering incidents.
