Site Quality Manager (12 month Contract)

Location: Lesotho

Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for a Site Quality Manager in Lesotho for one of our projects, this individual is to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Site Quality Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day construction activities, implement high/required on-site quality standards, en-sure all personnel and contractors maintain high/required HSE standards, and monitor, control & report progress

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the following key project disciplines at site, Health and Safety, Environmental management, logistics and warehouse, Quality Control, Document control of all quality documentation, Progress measurement of site activities and Community Liaison (Grievances) Project Reporting; ensure the project is being executed within the functional/contractual requirements and proactively lead and assist the Construction Team
  • Ensure that basic services at site as security, control of entrance at site, office facilities (supply of electricity, water, cleaning, basic office material), vehicles etc are in place and kept functional;
  • Monitoring & controlling of the project budget related to site activities
  • Manage SSO on site teams, responsible to plan and coordinate Scatec Solar resources at site, monitor & control extra hours, rotations, commuting (daily to site / rotation), take actions on deviation of conduct, performance evaluation reviews.
  • Main point of contact with the Contractors at site, responsible to lead daily and weekly meetings, coordinate the sequence of the construction activities with the support of supervisors
  • Compile daily and weekly Construction reports based on on-site observations
  • Engage daily with the SSO site managers and supervisors in terms of progress, risks and quality of work
  • Assess construction progress reporting (from sub-contractors) daily and the validity thereof
  • Represent the SSO (as EPC) in Community meetings as part of stakeholder engagement commitments as requested supporting the CLO, Unions, Local Police, Schools, Environmental and governmental related audits at site

Qualifications And Competencies

  • Minimum: Technical or Administration qualification
  • Ideal: Degree/Qualification in Construction Management or Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
  • Specialization in Solar and or/Renewables
  • Project Management experience
  • Minimum: 8+ years working experience in a related project construction environment – supervisory/mangement role
  • Managment of all construction aspects, electrical, mechanical and civilengineering works
  • Staff management, time managment, cost management, quality management and production management expertise
  • 3+ years working with EPC projects
  • Ideal: 5+ years management of renewable energy construction
  • You are used to changing environments and to quickly meet new challenges
  • Fluent in English
