Society for Family Health (SFH) is a South African affiliate of Population Services International (PSI), an international NGO network operational in over 70 countries. We work to make it easier for people to lead healthier lives.

This position is a part of our Testing & Treatment for Men (TTM) project, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which aims to increase uptake of HIV testing and treatment among young men in South Africa. The Research Coordinator will work with the SFH team in Johannesburg and the PSI team in Washington as well as consortium partners Ipsos and Matchboxology and pilot partners Broad Reach and Right to Care.

We are looking for someone with experience in designing and conducting program monitoring and evaluation and operations research. Someone self-driven and able to drive the learning agenda of the project. Someone who thinks systematically and pays attention to detail. Someone able to work across a range of partners and stakeholders to collect, analyse and disseminate project learnings.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Designing an electronic database for storage of study data.
Ensuring that data collection is conducted according to the terms of the study protocol.
Managing data storage, transfer and sharing according to the terms of the study protocol.
Monitoring and supporting project staff to ensure quality of all study-related data.
Training and supporting project staff, onsite and remotely, to implement the study protocol.
Ensuring recruitment and consent procedures are implemented according to the study protocol.
Entering or supervising the entry of data into the electronic database and ensuring data quality.
Ensuring protection of the privacy of study participants and the confidentiality of data.
Coordinating and leading weekly calls with the project team.
Ensuring timely provision of all study supplies (forms, templates, etc.) to project staff.
Sending detailed weekly updates to the project team.
 REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree in public health or another relevant field
Five years of relevant work experience including direct experience with program monitoring & evaluation/operations research
Experience in training and supervising data collectors
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to perform multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines
English fluency required, proficiency in isiZulu preferred
