Cancer is a complex, life-threatening disease which affects millions of South Africans. CANSA is very concerned about the high incidence of cancer and is working hard to help South Africans to reduce their cancer risk, help them to detect it early and facilitate care and support to those who are diagnosed, as well as their loved ones.

The Cancer Association of SA seeks to appoint a Service Delivery Coordinator to be based in  CANSA Cape Metro Care Centre.

The purpose of the to engage communities to enable the delivery of CANSA’s health programmes

Responsibilities and Duties:(not more than 15):
Volunteer Management:
Analyse community needs and compile action plans to serve community and stimulate active involvement in the fight against cancer
Compile community profiles
Recruit, train, coordinate, motivate and recognised diversity in assigned activities
Support lead volunteers to achieve service delivery targets
Manage contracted commission-based community member(s) where applicable
Maintain and strengthen staff and volunteer’s partnership
Implement standardised processes for volunteer engagement and development
Ensure adherence to CANSA standards, policies and procedures
Relationship/Team Development:
Identify income generation opportunities within the community and collaborate with staff partners to achieve targets
Utilise community structures in the execution of projects and events
Promote CANSA’s national programmes and ensure compliance to standards
Assist with community-based fund-raising activities including national programmes
Network with influential role players within the community to enhance/support the achievement of goals
Adhere to CANSA standards and best practises
Ensure that all assigned events comply with required benchmark and standards
Continuously evaluate and improve community events according to CANSA’s best practise model
Guide and equip all volunteers to achieve their CANSA objectives
Ensure that all programme and project targets are achieved within the required timelines
Ensure that complete and accurate information is captured onto relevant databases and in accordance with established timelines
Protect and promote the good name and brand of CANSA in all activities
Stay abreast of knowledge and information to support and drive a team approach when serving the community
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Qualified Social Worker with at least 3 years’ working experience
Proof of SACAAP registration is compulsory
Afrikaans, English, and any other official language
Own vehicle
Valid Drivers License
Salary accordance to CANSA Salary Scale
