RESPONSIBLE TO : PRINCIPAL TECHNICAL OFFICER
Purpose of the job:
To carry out maintenance and repair works for roofs, doors, ceilings, Fittings, Flooring, Glazing, Shuttering, Shelving, and Fencing — split poles etc
Main Duties:
1. To carry out maintenance and repair works for roofs, doors, ceilings, Fittings, Flooring, Glazing, Shuttering, Shelving, Fencing — split poles etc
1.1. Assesses complaints
1.2. Collects and prepares material for maintenance
1.3. Maintains/repairs
1.4. Paints repaired works
2. To prepare monthly reports on work done
2.1. Collects data on the job done
2.2. Compiles a report
3. To supervise jobs
3.1. Supervises the staff on site
3.2. Monitors the job done
3.3. Inspects and certifies completed jobs
4. To appraise the performance of staff
4.1. Supports staff to develop work plans
4.2. Monitors and evaluates performance
5. To handle grievance and disciplinary cases
5.1. Discipline staff
5.2. Resolve grievances
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
EDUCATION AND ‘TRAINING
Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery (not less than 2 to 3 years academic training) from L.T.I/T.S.L /Leloaleng
OR
Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery (not less than 1 year academic training) from Bishop Alert/ Opportunities Industrialization Centre. Plus 3 years working experience
OR
Trade Test B certificate on the relevant field plus 3 years working experience OR
Trade Test C certificate on the relevant field plus 5 years working experience
COMPETENCIES:
Ability to read plans, drawing, technical manual and material specifications Computer literacy
Ability to work in a team Must be safety conscious
Be prepared to work beyond normal working hours and under pressure Ability to communicate orally and in writing,
Ability to work without close supervision
