PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To supervise the surveillance team, as well as ensuring optimal usage for relevant CCTV to coordinate access control into the plant and red areas.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree / Diploma in Information Technology
- Diploma in Security Studies
PREREQUISITE REQUIREMENTS AND RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Applicant must have worked in a diamond security protection area for at least 3 years.
- Applicant must have gone under Full body X-ray Screening Course.
- Applicant must have gone under Advanced CCTV Body language training.
- Applicant must have gone under CiiMS Online Intelligence Reporting training.
- Applicant must have gone under Babylon access control training.
- 3 Years’ Experience working as Security personnel in Supervisory level in a diamond mine.
- Disciplined National Security Forces experience will be an added advantage.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Perform CCTV camera surveillance operations in all high-risk areas where personnel come into direct contact with concentrate.
- Interact with supervisory personnel to ensure consistency in workflow and processes between departments.
- Conduct planned, focused surveillance activities of personnel with the view to detecting anomalies as well as suspicious practices by individuals.
- Maintain sound knowledge of the CCTV’s functionality and only operate within set perimeters.
- Advise plant/recovery/sort house security personnel about plant operations/proceedings that are hidden from CCTV coverage areas and when necessary, arrange placement and positioning of portable CCTV camera to oversee operations.
- Ensure effective configuration of access and surveillance management systems in accordance with requirements and approved change control protocols.
- Ensure effective daily administration of the security access control system and report anomalies and action taken to prevent unauthorized entry into high-risk areas.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to policies, procedures and SHE and Security standards and best practices.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Familiar with legal guidelines in terms of Security
- Adequate knowledge on the criminal procedure and evidence act and precious stones order
- Familiar with law of Security Officers
- Sound knowledge of CCTV hardware and software
- Knowledge of CiiMS online reporting system
- Knowledge of Babylon Access Control
- Knowledge and administration of Xscann
- Data analysis and reporting
- Information gathering and concise report writing
- Sound decision making, interpersonal and questioning skills
- Ability to plan and prioritize completing deadlines

- Good communication skills
- Ability to produce concise reports that can be used as evidence
