Reporting to the Manager Transmission the incumbent shall be responsible to effectively manage Vodacom Lesotho’s Transmission Network to provide adequate capacity, high quality and reliability in order to meet and exceed business requirements. The incumbent shall be responsible to plan, design, build/implement, integrate, operate, and maintain the various components of Vodacom Lesotho’s Transmission Network.
Job Responsibility
- Produce detailed designs and integration plans of new transmission systems in line with current and future requirements to support the company strategy.
- Plan and design synchronization networks to ensure that network elements are synchronized.
- Plan all new microwave links in order to maintain minimal interference on the Microwave Network at all times and reduce Points of Concentration (PoCs) in the network.
- Review policies related to Transmission Network Systems
- Proactive monitoring and administration of all Transmission Network elements in order to ensure that all relevant performance related KPI’ are consistently met
- Management of issues and faults on Transmission network in order to ensure that problems are effectively tracked to resolution so as to minimize service disruptions and downtime
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in Telecommunication Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or relevant tertiary qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years in telecommunications is desirable
- Advanced knowledge of mobile networks technologies, architecture and protocols
- Advanced knowledge of IP network networks
- Proven Understanding of Cloud networks
- Proven Understanding of Software Defined Networks
- Demonstrated knowledge of PathLoss microwave network planning tool
- Cisco CCNA certification
- Huawei HCNA certification
