The Lightbend Telemetry Team is responsible for adding commercial observability features to the Lightbend Reactive Platform suite of frameworks, Akka, Play, and Lagom, as well as integrating with common OSS and commercial tools like StatsD, Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic, and Zipkin, among others. The code is mainly developed in Scala and Java with elements of low level JVM and Java bytecode manipulation.
We are seeking a highly motivated senior software engineer, that is eager to learn and wants to develop together with the team and the company. We are a welcoming, small distributed team currently located in the United States and New Zealand, with other colleagues all over the world.

You are:
- Strong in Scala or Java with 5+ years of experience in either
- Familiar with or interested in Functional, Asynchronous, and Distributed programming
- Committed to validating code with unit and integration tests
- Accustomed to working with git, pull requests, and continuous integration
- Comfortable with Docker and Kubernetes
- Aware of Java agents and Java bytecode
