The Sustainable Livelihoods Foundation NPC is seeking to engage an experienced senior programme officer to join its Economic Development (ED) project team, to be based at our Cape Town office and require travel within South Africa on a regular basis.

The senior programme officer will be engaged on a full-time, fixed-term basis for a duration of 12 months.

Starting Date: May 2022

Compensation for this position is R420,000 per annum.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Writing project reports, documenting project development processes, and recording the minutes of project meetings.
• Conducting research and policy analysis in support of the institutionalization of projects.
• Arranging and conducting community-based and participatory engagements, including via social media.
• Corresponding with project partners and counterparts.
• Representing SLF at various fora.
• Facilitating project partnerships.
• Supporting project logistics, administrative tasks, and new proposals.
• Supporting in the visualization and development of design briefs for project knowledge products and outputs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• A completed PhD, or a Masters’ degree (awarded with an upper second or higher) with significant work experience.
• At least 5-years of full-time professional work experience in a similar capacity.
• A demonstrable track record of working to deadlines and producing high quality research and/or consultancy outputs.
• An understanding of local government in South Africa.
• A valid unendorsed driving license.
• Experience in using MS Office 365.
• South African citizenship or residency
• Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or willing to be vaccinated prior to taking up the post.
