About the Position

This position plays a critical role in turning Internet Society’s strategy into action and capturing how those actions have meaningfully contributed to a bigger, stronger Internet. The Senior Manager, Strategy & Impact Implementation is part of the Strategic Alignment and Impact (SAI) team, which is responsible for strategy implementation; annual planning; project management; and impact-related measurement and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As Senior Manager of Strategy & Impact Implementation, you will work on the following pillars:

Strategy

  • Assist with development of critical inputs ahead of the next strategy cycle; inputs include trends assessment, SWOT analyses, etc.
  • Provide coordination support to the leadership team leading up to and during the strategy development process
  • Provide ongoing support to help teams implement future strategy
  • Gather feedback from staff and other key stakeholders; implement improvements to strategy-related processes

Impact

  • Develop a centralized process for impact-related data collection in consultation with internal stakeholders including Content, Marketing Communications, and Fundraising teams
  • Implement process and serve as point person for impact data collection and workflows
  • Lead the development process for our annual Impact Report
  • Gather feedback from staff and other key stakeholders; implement improvements to impact-related processes
  • Be the point person for data gathering and impact workflows, working closely with communications and fundraising teams

Communications

  • Facilitate collaborative learning opportunities to improve staff understanding about the Internet Society’s strategy and impact
  • Curate information, create simple data visualizations, and design reports for executive and Board-level consumption

Other

  • work with teams to ensure activities align with organizational strategy;
  • help teams clearly articulate how activities contribute to a bigger, stronger Internet;
  • gather evidence that demonstrates how the Internet Society’s intervention made a positive difference for people and the Internet; and
  • play an important role in communicating our impact and strategic progress to key stakeholders, ranging from the Board of Trustees to our global community of 90,000 members
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience
  • Degree in Business or Communications preferred
  • Experience designing and implementing complex, organization-wide processes, ideally related to strategy and/or impact
  • Ability to drive high-impact, cross-functional programs with team leaders and to overcome cultural challenges
  • Move easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail
  • Navigate the complexities of cross-border and/or diverse teams and engagements
  • Anticipate stakeholder needs, and develop and discuss potential solutions, even before the stakeholder realizes they are required.
  • Uphold the Internet Society’s values: collaboration, inclusion, people, passion, and respect
  • Ability to travel if required

Compensation and benefits for this position will be paid in local currency and based on the country and geographic location’s local salary and benefits market data for the position. Exact pay will be based on factors including but not limited to relevant qualifications, experience, geographic location, education, business and organizational need.
