The Mpumalanga Association of and for Persons with Disabilities is a Provincial NPO whose objective is a diverse South African Society built on equality, equity, inclusion, and free from discrimination, in which persons with disabilities are recognized as an integral part of society.
We serve as a pro-active forum for the advancement of persons with disabilities so as to enable them to attain their maximum level of independence and integration into the community, and to prevent the occurrence of disablement.
The Provincial office situated in Silver Oak street, Mbombela wish to appoint a SENIOR MANAGER: PR, MARKETING AND FUNDRAISING.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for all the Marketing and Fundraising initiatives of the Association and will have a proven experience of raising funds in excess of R5m per annum. The incumbent will be expected to increase the donor base, explore new income projects and market the services of the Association throughout the province.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Marketing Strategy
Develop the marketing strategy for the Association in line with the Marketing Policy
Plan and implement marketing campaigns
Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing communications
Oversee general brand management and corporate identity
Communicate with Programme Managers and Social Workers to ensure that they are kept informed of marketing campaigns and objectives
Market and promote the organisation, its services and the best interests of persons with disabilities.
Network with other relevant service providers, action groups and government departments
Marketing Collateral
Write, coordinate and oversee the distribution of e-mail Newsletters, Annual Reports and Press Releases
Manage the production of marketing materials, including leaflets, posters, flyers and newsletters
Maintain and update the Association’s website and create social media accounts
Coordinate photo shoots for marketing material
Create and manage the Association’s Google AdWords campaigns
Fundraising
Work alongside the Director to ensure the organization is financially secure in order to carry out its aims and objectives
Identify and research new funding opportunities
Develop and submit proposals for programmes that could attract new funding
Update and maintain the funder database
Compile all donor reports and ensure donor retention
Build and maintain relationships with donors and provide feedback on the impact of sponsorship
Set up fundraising campaigns on GivenGain or any other fundraising platforms
Public relations and media
Be the centre of information for all the good services rendered by the Association and be well informed of all the daily activities of the Association.
Identify opportunities to increase organization’s exposure
Liaise with the media to garner exposure
Compose Press Releases, build media relationships to ensure media coverage
Manage all Social Media
Manage and attend Events
Management
Management of all volunteers
Leadership and management of all staff relating to the marketing and fundraising strategies
Initiate and manage all the administrative functions required in the department and undertake the higher level administrative functions.
Manage performance, conduct and discipline of subordinates
Manage budget and resources allocated to the department
REQUIREMENTS:
Marketing Degree / National Diploma
A proven track record in raising funds from corporates
A minimum of 5 years ‘ experience in writing funding proposals of the NPO sector
Previous experience in Marketing and PR with the ability to develop the strategic direction of fundraising in previous positions
Sound Marketing and Communication skills, with extensive written and verbal skills in English in order to handle grants and proposals, and strong planning and organizing skills
Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and enduring organizational support
Researching and approaching National and International Founding Organizations and Institutions, Trusts, Government agencies and other bodies that could potentially make grants or donations to MAPD
Proven ability to develop and write excellent funding proposals
An understanding of the local and international donors, the NGO sector and fundraising trends
The ability to take initiative / see opportunities
The ability to work under pressure, and willing to work after hours when faced with deadlines
A team player who also works well independently
Competent use of Microsoft Office
Ability of research techniques in both print and electronic media
Remuneration will be in accordance with the qualifications and experience of the incumbent.
