Location:                  Remote – Worldwide (with significant overlap with US business hours)

With climate action growing rapidly and driving a new wave of investment, Verra is enhancing its work to support companies and organizations in using high-quality carbon credits in order to set and achieve increasingly ambitious climate goals.

A day with Verra’s collaborative Legal, Policy, and Markets team might include…

  • Holding your monthly key account call with your counterpart at a large corporate user of carbon credits.
  • Presenting to an audience of corporate decision-makers on the role of carbon offsetting.
  • Meeting with Verra colleagues to share insights about the future development of Verra’s carbon programs.

Specific functions you will be responsible for…

  • Corporate relations – developing and implementing an organizational strategy for engaging with end users of carbon credits about their climate goals.
  • Intermediary relations – developing and implementing an organizational strategy for engaging with relevant market intermediaries, including brokers and exchanges.

You bring with you…

  • 7+ years of client relations experience, including commodity market exposure.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills to maintain a professional approach and demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English; bonus points are given for competency with additional languages.
  • Experience in cross-cultural and/or international work environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills and discipline to independently prioritize work efficiently and effectively under deadlines.
  • Ideal candidates possess a degree in a related field (graduate preferred) with professional experience in compliance and/or voluntary carbon markets.

Compensation at Verra

Verra pays employees competitively to the market. In return, we expect each employee to, at a minimum:

  • Meet expectations in terms of work effort and performance;
  • Take the initiative to build the skills and knowledge needed to do their job effectively; and
  • Embody Verra’s values.

For this position, the salary range is between $79,847 – $107,569 USD.  The compensation band is based on a U.S. base salary range and shares the min and max base salary for the position. This position is eligible for remote work.   

The final compensation offered will be contingent upon role, level and location. Our Talent team can share the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. 

We recognize employees who go beyond expected performance with salary increases and/or promotions, but the bar for earning those rewards is high.

Salary is one component of Verra’s total compensation package which also includes:

  • Health, vision and dental care, and life insurance;

  • Paid Time Off (PTO), comprising 22-30 days plus ten floating holidays, sabbatical after five years of service, and other leave allowances; and
