The applicant must a senior lecturer with a PhD; and have done African Languages and Literature as one of the majors in his / her first degree and M.A. in Oral Literature and Modern Sesotho Poetry. S/he should be able to teach Sesotho Poetry, Drama, Fiction, Oral Literature, Creative Writing and Research Methods. The incumbent must show proven record of both B.A. and postgraduate supervision. Must be proficient in both Sesotho and English as well as experience in teaching of Modern Sesotho and Oral Literatures at tertiary level and knowledge of isiZulu or isiXhosa will be an added advantage. Evidence of research and publications in refereed journals, reputable journals and accredited ones will be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervision of students’ projects and dissertations;
Designing programmes and courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
Teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
Participating in research programmes of the Department/Faculty;
Performing other duties required by the Department.
Develop and promote scholarly excursions.
Promote and strengthen academic linkage between the Department and other stakeholders.
Initiate and implement progressive strategies for the betterment of the Department.
Performing other duties required by the Department.

The incumbent will be expected to carry out the teaching, engage on academic citizenship and conduct research in his/her area of expertise, and perform any other duties as may be required by the Department.
Employment type:
The appointment for this post shall be either on contract for a period of two years for non-locals and permanent and pensionable for locals.
