Job Description

Responsible for conducting, documenting moderately complex audit projects carrying out audits following prescribed audit programmes

  • Ensure audits are conducted according to Group Internal Audit methodology (GIA) methodology and compile reports based on the findings of the audit review and highlight any areas of risk to the bank.   
  • Propose practical and value adding recommendations to address control weaknesses and/or process inefficiencies.
  • Brainstorm, identify, implement and drive innovative best practice ideas within the organisation to ensure increased efficiencies.
  • Improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence together with analyzing trends and data.
  • Participate in implementation of the combined assurance model. 
  • Stay abreast of relevant industry risk management best practices, legislative amendments and local conditions and suggests ways to leverage these to ensure continuous improvement of the control environment.
  • Build and engage in cross functional relationships that allow for the managing of expectations; the sharing of knowledge and diverse insights; and the creation of buy-in.
  • Apply a customer-centric approach that focuses on creating a positive experience for the audit client by maximizing service and building relationships.
  • Ensure that the audit client is at the centre of the business philosophy, operations and ideas.
  • Create audit and risk awareness and monitor resolutions of audit findings.
  • Participate in Group risk forums where required and cascades relevant information through team.
  • Leverage Group capability to exploit opportunities.
  • Identify development needs and select effective solutions to address personal development gaps to facilitate self-improvement and encourage others to do the same.
  • Contribute to the development of larger overall area budget.
  • Contribute to the control of the budget for area including the authorization of expenditures and implementation of financial regulations.
