Job title : Senior Houseman (Medical Doctor)

Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Medical Superintendent, the senior houseman manages and cares for patients, coordinates public health activities and manages health services in the hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and care for patients
- Consult patients and prescribe medication
- Review patient clinical management
- Ensure efficient service delivery
- Provide technical advice, guide and support other healthcare workers
- Coordinates patient management with other health care workers
- Liaise with Senior Doctors on management of patients and their referrals
- Prepare reports for submission to the relevant authorities as needed
- Maintain various records and registers
- Attend ward rounds
- Attend Doctors meetings and do presentations
- The Medical Officer will be required to carry out such other duties as may be laid down by their supervisor and Medical Superintendent, including administrative responsibilities from time to time.
- Produce monthly reports
Job Specification
- A valid degree in MB ChB/MD.
- Registered with Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council.
- Good communication skills
- Ability to learn and develop
- Commitment and knowledge of work.
- Good decision maker.
- Computer skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends, extended hours, and holidays
- Have registered with the Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council.
